Web Browsers

The First Web Browser:

The World Wide Web was the first web browser.Tim Berners-Lee wrote the first web browser on a NeXT computer, finishing the first version on Christmas day, 1990. He released the program to a number of people at CERN in March, 1991.


The First commercially successful browser:

The first commercially successful web browser was Mosaic. Mosaic is the web browser which made the Word Wide Web more popular.  Mosaic was also the first browser to display images with text instead of displaying images in a separate window.Mosaic was developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois, beginning in late 1992. NCSA released the browser in 1993.
